Ministry of Justice to establish legal framework worth almost £1billion

The Ministry of Justice published on OJEU notice this week, seeking to create a £999m framework for the procurement of legal aid services in England and Wales.

The Legal Aid Agency, a branch of the Ministry of Justice, is inviting applicants to respond to ITTs for the delivery of publicly funded civil legal aid services in the following law categories:

  • Family
  • Housing, debt and welfare benefits
  • Immigration and asylum (which includes work at immigration removal centres)
  • Mental health
  • Community care
  • Claims against public authorities
  • Clinical negligence
  • Public law
  • Family mediation.

The framework, which is worth almost £1billion, will come into operation in September 2018, running for three years and terminating in August 2021. It is divided into lots based on the categories listed above.
