The Opportunity

Our Construction client is currently looking for a Technical Bid Writer to join their team on a Contract Basis basis. Based in central London with some UK travel expected, this role would suit a candidate with strong technical background.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Review and edit technical content for structure, completeness, compliance, and organisational      consistency.
  • Identifying and continually updating bid content and style to ensure that the business remains a  market leader in PQQ and ITT submissions.
  • Assist the Bid / Proposal Manager in developing a proposal structure, setting timescales for tender  responses, and ensuring internal deadlines are met (escalating issues as required).
  • Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts throughout the business and  industry.
  • Work with the Bid Coordinator to maintain an up-to-date library of information for use in tender  responses
  • Translate complex technical & bespoke material from various sources into concise, easily  understandable, organised, one-voice styled content.
  • Review and edit technical content for structure, completeness, compliance, and organisational  consistency.
  • Propose new tactics using experience and expertise to ensure progressive improvements in win  rates.
  • Liaise with staff in all departments to collate technical information to use in pre-qualification  questionnaires (PQQ), responses to invitations to tender (ITT) and business proposals.
  • Work with the Group Proposal Manager and the wider business in the production of case studies /  project profiles for use within PQQs and ITTs where required.

Personal Qualities & Requirements.

  • Minimum of 3 years bid writing experience within the Construction or Engineering Sector sector.
  • Must have experience in bidding to local government, ideally for education projects.
  • Ability to build professional and amenable relationships with colleagues from diverse business    disciplines at all levels.
  • Embraces change and consider new ways of working as improvements.
  • Good understanding and / or front line experience of operations in a construction environment.
  • An acknowledged bid author with a demonstrable record of success in formulating and delivering  winning bids.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proof reading skills.
