MoD announce £1.5million maintenance and support contract for two Bristol RAF bases

18th June 2018

The MoD have released an OJEU notice announcing a five-year maintenance and support contract for their ground support software package in Bristol.

The contract is worth £1m – £1.5m and will see the winning tenderer provide maintenance and support for all hardware and software at RAF Sultan and RAF Cosford – particularly their Avionics System Trainer (AST) and Aircraft Propulsion System Trainer (APST).

The AST is a computer-based training system used by The Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering to provide training to aircrew and petty officer engineer technicians. It is used to deliver 43% of avionics technician training.

The APST consists of a generic aircraft model and is used to deliver procedural training on aircraft engine systems to mechanical technicians.

Commencement of competitive procedures is anticipated to be between August and September of this year, with work expected to begin on 1st May 2019.
