London University Purchasing Consortia announce £100million waste management services framework

London Universities Purchasing Consortia, in association with other Universities Purchasing Consortia (UCP), have released a contract notice for a £100m waste management services framework.

 

The contract has been divided into five lots, with tenders able to be submitted for a maximum of two.

 

Of the lots, bidders may only be awarded the following combinations:

 

  • Bidders bidding for Lots 1 and 2, can only bid and be awarded for Lot 1, Lot 2 or both Lots 1 and 2, but no further lots.

 

  • Bidders bidding for Lots 3 and 4, can only bid and be awarded for Lot 3, Lot 4 or both Lots 3 and 4, but no further lots.

 

  • Bidders bidding for Lot 5, can only bid and be awarded for Lot 5.

 

Lot 1 – Total waste management (England, Wales and Northern Ireland)

 

This lot includes the management of all waste streams – collection and disposal – produced by member institutions. This covers general waste, dry mixed recyclables and hazardous waste among others.

 

A maximum of eight candidates will be invited to bid on this lot.

 

Lot 2 – Total waste management (London)

 

This lot covers the same criteria as Lot 1, but across London.

 

A maximum of 10 candidates will be invited to bid on this lot.

 

Lot 3 – Hazardous, Chemical and Radioactive Waste (England, Wales and Northern Ireland)

 

This lot includes the collection and disposal of all hazardous, chemical and radioactive waste.

 

A maximum of six candidates will be invited to bid on this lot.

 

Lot 4 – Clinical and Pharmaceutical Waste (England, Wales and NI)

 

This lot includes the collection and disposal of all clinical and pharmaceutical waste.

 

A maximum of six candidates will be invited to bid on this lot.

 

Lot 5 – Confidential Waste (England, Wales and NI)

 

This lot includes the collection and destruction of all confidential waste

 

A maximum of six candidates will be invited to bid on this lot.

 

Requests to participate must be received by 15 October, with invitations to tender to be dispatched on 12 November.
