Defra seeks veterinary delivery partners in tender worth over £203m

Defra has launched a Veterinary Delivery Partnership tender for livestock testing in England and Wales estimated to be worth £203.3m.

 

There will be 3 services:

 

  • Service A: tuberculin testing of bovine and non-bovine animals: a Fully Managed Service (FMS) for the provision of TB testing services within a specific Geographical Region;
  • Service B: additional veterinary services: a FMS for the provision of Additional Veterinary Services (including Cymorth TB in Wales) that are appropriately delivered by local veterinary practices within a specific geographical region;
  • Service C: emergency support services: provision of critical resource support within GB to enhance the national capability to respond to animal disease outbreaks and other emergencies.

 

The contract is divided into lots and tenders may be submitted for all lots. The contracting authority reserves the right to award contracts combining the following lots or groups of lots:

  • A maximum of two lots may be awarded to the same tenderer in England (lots 3, 4, 5 and 6).
  • A maximum of one lot may be awarded to the same tenderer in Wales (lots 1 and 2).
  • Should a tenderer win one lot in Wales (lot 1 and 2), they may only win one further lot in England (lot 3, 4, 5 and 6).

 

Lot 1 – North Wales – value £13,950,000

 

Lot 2 – South Wales – value £25,850,000

 

Lot 3 – Devon and Cornwall – value £39,210,000

 

Lot 4 – Western England – value £42,240,000

 

Lot 5 – South and Eastern England – value £38,000,000

 

Lot 6 – Northern England – value £44,050,000

 

For each lot, the contract duration is 36 months with an option to extend by up to 24 months.

 

Date for submission of tenders is 11 November 2020.
