Legal Services contract worth £60m announced by Newcastle City Council

The city council is acting as the Lead Authority on behalf of the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO) to establish a multiple lot Framework Agreement for the delivery of legal services. The estimated value of this framework is currently £60,000,000.00.

 

This framework aims to deliver more effective legal services to the city of Newcastle in various areas specified in the following lots.

 

General legal advice lots:

 

  • Creation of new delivery vehicles and shared service proposals
  • Public procurement
  • Contracts
  • Outsourcing
  • State aid
  • Restructuring/Insolvency
  • Planning and Highways (including enforcement)
  • Construction
  • Tax
  • Local authority powers and duties in respect of the above
  • Freedom of Information Act and Data Protection
  • Monitoring officer/standard issues (including investigations of alleged breaches of the code of conduct for councillors

 

Specialist lots:

 

  • Conveyancing
  • Housing
  • Family
  • Education
  • Prosecutions
  • Licensing
  • Litigation
  • Insolvency
  • Debt recovery
  • Highways
  • Employment Law

 

All contracts cover 48 months and may be renewed upon their expiry.      

Tenders may be submitted to all lots. The deadline for receipts of tenders and requests to participate is 1st July 2019.
