The Transport Technology Infrastructure framework has been announced by Crown Commercial Service. This framework is being launched following the success of Traffic Management Technology 2 which resulted in core components of highway technology being made available for purchase – from street lights to road sensors and supportive smart infrastructure.

 

Central government is mandated to use this commercial agreement. The public sector can also use this agreement to buy goods and services.

 

Transport Technology Infrastructure is going to create favourable conditions for marketing and purchasing all highway and transport infrastructure, with or without a smart technology overlay.

 

Examples of services include:

 

• Street lighting
• Parking systems
• Traffic monitoring and management
• Environmental monitoring

 

Current timeline:

 

• The procurement process is currently in blueprinting design. They are planning to complete this in Summer 2019.
• The OJEU publication is planned to be completed in Autumn 2019.
• The deadline for requests to participate is Friday (5^th October) and invitations to tender dispatched by the following Monday (8^th October).
• The contact is to be awarded by approximately Spring 2020.
