NHS Audiology services framework announced worth £17.5m

25th June 2019

The aim of the Pan Lancashire and South Cumbria Audiology Services framework is to deliver an innovative and comprehensive patient-centred integrated hearing service across the Lancashire and South Cumbria area. It is valued at £17.5m.

This is a joint procurement involving NHS Midlands and Lancashire, Blackburn and Darwen, East Lancashire, Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre, Morecambe Bay, West Lancashire, Greater Preston, Chorley and South Ribble.

The service will include the provision of hearing aids for age-related hearing loss (for patients aged 50 years and over) in line with national guidance and local requirements for the registered population of the NHS commissioning organisations.

The vision is for people with age related hearing loss to receive high quality, efficient services that are delivered faster and closer to home. The service providers must prioritise patient-focused outcomes in response to the needs of individual patients, families and carers in the community.

The contracts awarded are set to run from January 2020 for 3 years, but are subject to a possible 2 year extension up to 2025.

The deadline for this framework is currently 19th July 2019.
