Yorkshire Water announce £750million civil engineering framework

13th August 2018

Yorkshire Water (YW) have released a contract notice for civil engineering works totalling £750m over up to eight years.

They are looking to establish a multi-supplier framework to service their business requirements for civil works across the YW estate covering all civil engineering-based activity – which would not be completed by Tier 1 partners.

The framework aims to cover civil and structural engineering construction and refurbishment works associated with above or below ground assets on operational treatment, collection or distribution facilities including process treatment and water retaining structures.

It also covers the construction and refurbishment work within a site boundary and some minor building works.

The framework is not divided into lots and its initial duration is five years, with YW having the option to extend for a further three years.

YW currently manage the collection, treatment and distribution of water in Yorkshire and supply around 1.24b litres of drinking water each day.

Added to this, they collect, treat and dispose of a further 1b litres of waste water safely back into the environment.

There are an envisaged number of six candidates to be invited to bid for the framework and a deadline for receipts of tenders or requests to participate has been set for 10th September.
